Assist in the oversight for the Healthy Chicago Survey, including reviewing questionnaire iterations, community area aggregation and sampling plans, technical reports and other work products from the vendor in order to ensure appropriate survey methodologies are being implemented and timelines are being met.
Some overtime in the event that a public health emergency is identified.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics or a related field supplemented by three years of progressively responsible epidemiological experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, provided the minimum degree requirement is met.

Assist in the oversight for the Healthy Chicago Survey, including reviewing questionnaire iterations, community area aggregation and sampling plans, technical reports and other work products from the vendor in order to ensure appropriate survey methodologies are being implemented and timelines are being met.
- Perform substantive analysis on local and national health survey datasets (BRFSS, NHANES, Healthy Chicago) utilizing advanced SAS programming techniques, such as MACROS,PROC REPORT, POWER, SURVEYSELECT, SURVEYMEANS, SURVEYFREQ, SURVEYREG, and SURVEYLOGISTIC, in order to produce descriptive statistics with weighted frequencies and confidence intervals for demographic and geographic subgroups.
- Maintain and analyze datasets related to chronic disease, specifically diabetes, from multiple sources such as birth and death certificates, hospitalization discharges, emergency room visits, Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, the Healthy Chicago Survey and other datasets with Chicago-specific data.
- Implement epidemiologic methods for small- area estimation and other complex analyses to better understand the factors contributing to diabetes in Chicago, barriers to controlling diabetes, and the efficacy of interventions to overcome the identified barriers.
- Prepare reports and presentations with tables, maps, charts and graphic displays of data for distribution to internal and external stakeholders regarding diabetes and other chronic diseases using SAS, ArcView, Microsoft applications, and Adobe Creative Suite.
