Development Director, Esperanza Community Housing Corporation

Esperanza
Community Housing Corporation is a twenty-five-year old social justice
non-profit, working to achieve comprehensive community development in
South Central Los Angeles. Esperanza strives to meet the most pressing
needs of neighborhood residents, strengthen children and families
through developing affordable housing, promoting access to health
education and quality care, providing art and cultural opportunities,
and stimulating economic development and ensuring environmental justice.
Esperanza strives always to build hope with the community. Esperanza is
a local leader in community land use campaigns and the movement toward
health and human rights. Responsibilities: Esperanza is seeking a
multi-skilled, creative and articulate individual, with manifest
social-justice integrity and human rights principles, and fund
development experience, to assume the role of Development Director
responsible for grants, fundraising, communications, and publications.
The Development Director provides leadership to the organization’s
efforts to obtain financial and other support to sustain its work;
approaches to individuals, foundations and corporations; manages the
overall marketing and promotional functions to construct and market an
appropriate image; develops ties with the community, and achieves
membership/participation goals; manages department budgets; and
participates as a member of the senior management team to formulate and
implement policies and plans to meet the organization’s short and long
term objectives. Esperanza’s five program areas include a number of
renowned, model programs related to community health access,
environmental justice, arts and culture, and the Mercado la Paloma
(www.mercadolapaloma.com) our economic development project. The
Development Director will be guided by the mission and values of the
organization.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor or comparable degree
• Demonstration of successful proposal writing and grant reporting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well within a collaborative team
• Ability to communicate effectively with community members, staff, Board, funders, etc.
• Bilingual (Spanish//English), preferred
• Desk-top publishing/graphic design experience preferred

Evaluation Coordinator, UCSF

medicine with an emphasis on meeting the needs of the economically
disadvantaged and the medically underserved; to advance knowledge in
family and community medicine; and develop methods of primary care that
are effective, efficient, and accessible to all people.
JOB OVERVIEW
The
UCSF Department of Family and Community Medicine at San Francisco
General Hospital is hiring an Evaluation Coordinator at the Analyst II
level to support the design, implementation and compliance of residency
program evaluations. The ideal candidate will have experience in
evaluation management, preferably in a healthcare or academic setting.
The American Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) recently
revised their accreditation system for Family Medicine Residencies. As
part of the new requirements, residencies are expected to gather data
about each resident’s progress along a prescribed set of learning
milestones and use those data to evaluate each resident’s milestone
level twice annually. These levels are to be assigned by a committee of
faculty and staff and then reported to the ACGME. This position was
created in response to these changes, to oversee evaluation assignment,
coordinate data gathering and organization, monitor compliance and
compile bi-monthly reports for committee review. The position will also
be responsible for developing and implementing evaluation processes for
resident seminars and lectures, faculty preceptors, and other components
of the residency program.
QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree and at least two years’ work experience, including involvement or familiarity with evaluation theory, design, and/or implementation
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Publisher, Access, Adobe, and Outlook
- Experience working with evaluation software programs (e.g.: e-value, New Innovations) and/or demonstrated ability to learn new software programs
- Verified track record of producing accurate and useful spreadsheets, meeting minutes, and other forms
Note: Physical/health screening, fingerprinting and background check required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s in Public Health or a related field
- Five years’ work experience
- Proficiency in Web-based content management systems (e.g.: Drupal, DreamWeaver, Joomla, Wordpress, etc)
- Basic familiarity with healthcare and medical terminology
