Health Policy Clinical Policy Administrator

The American College of Physicians (ACP) is a prestigious medical membership association headquartered in Philadelphia. It is our aim to enhance the quality and effectiveness of healthcare by fostering excellence and professionalism in the practice of internal medicine.

We are seeking a committed professional familiar with clinical or health research to assist in activities related to performance measurement and clinical guidelines.

Qualifications:
  •  Support activities related to guideline development and performance measurement.
  • Perform literature reviews and analyze articles critically. 
  • Prepare agendas, identify content, write minutes and reports for meetings. 
  • Assist in editing, proofreading, and development of original papers produced by the department. 
  • Create and maintain database of evidence-based references. 

 Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree, though a Master’s degree is preferred in Health Services Research or Public Health. Candidates must have ability to do literature searches using MedLine and bibliographic software (such as EndNote) data management, and data analysis. Excellent editorial, proofreading skills, and attention to detail required. Expertise in Word, Excel and Powerpoint as well as project management skills and ability to handle multiple assignments are essential. Familiarity with clinical guidelines and performance measurement is highly desirable.

Prevention Fellow (Chicago) Paid Internship

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) is accepting applications for the 2013-2015 Prevention Fellowship Program.

Description: The Prevention Fellowship Program prepares fellows for International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) certification as substance abuse prevention specialists. This professional development program allows fellows to (1) work in State agencies while being supported by State agency mentors; (2) receive prevention and professional development training; (3) learn a set of core competencies in preparation for the Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) exam; (4) develop management and leadership skills; and (5) prepare for potential opportunities within the prevention field.

In addition to building competencies in diverse areas of public, behavioral, and allied health practice, fellows and interns have opportunities to develop critical research, writing, evaluation, and presentation skills within a structured training program.

Qualifications: Individuals seeking selection into the Prevention Fellowship Program must meet the following criteria and provide associated documentation: 1)U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Territories and Pacific Jurisdictions residency; 2) At least 2 years of college from an accredited academic institution and a minimum of 2 years paid work experience in public health, behavioral health, clinical or social science areas; or a Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in public health, behavioral health, clinical or social science areas; 3) two letters of recommendation; 4) a detailed essay of 500 words or less on why the candidate should be selected for the fellowship and how the selection would support his or her career goals; and 5) a strong interest in the substance abuse prevention field.

Epidemiologist-Operational—New Mexico Department of Health

This position will evaluate improvements in the reporting and data collection of race, ethnicity and tribal affiliation in New Mexico hospitalization and emergency department databases in order to reduce racial/ethnic health disparities.

Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Science, Social Services and/or Statistics and one (1) year experience in Public Health to include data analysis and linking methodology.
