RWJF Health Policy Fellows Call for Applications

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellows program provides the nation’s most comprehensive fellowship experience at the nexus of health, science and policy in Washington, D.C. It is an outstanding opportunity for exceptional midcareer health professionals and behavioral and social scientists with an interest in health and health care policy promoting the health of the nation. Fellows participate in the policy process at the federal level and use that leadership experience to improve health, health care and health policy.

Volunteer/Practicum Opportunity with Cook County Health and Hospital System (CCHHS)

Cook County Health and Hospital System in partnership with Maywood PLCCA is conducting a suburban food literacy study. The purpose of this study is to determine the rates of food literacy in communities with limited food access in Maywood. Students will gather data and help to develop a food literacy intervention for the access, planning, selection, and preparation of local foods. The volunteers will work with Dr. Terry Mason  Chief Medical Officer, Cook County Health and Hospitals Systems.

Proviso Partners for Health: Advanced Action for Childhood Obesity One-day Summit

MPH/CPH students are invited to help make a difference by attending the Proviso Partners for Health: Advanced Action for Childhood Obesity One-day Summit.

When: Saturday, October 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

This free opportunity is being offered by the Proviso Partners for Health which is a proud partner of the Healthy HotSpot initiative led by the Cook County Department of Public Health, aiming to make suburban Cook County healthier one spot at a time through Partnerships for Healthy Living.

Together, as community partners, we are collaborating to make a healthier Proviso.

A free lunch will be provided.
