STUDENT WORKER POSITION AT LUREC FOR SUMMER 2014

The Loyola University Retreat and Ecology Campus (LUREC), located in Bull Valley, Illinois, has summer employment opportunities for Loyola students interested in working on its farm. The farm provides food for the LUREC operations, in addition to a farm stand that will operate at the property. Students can expect to gain hands on experience with farming operations through the term of their employment.
  
Job responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the Farm Operations Manager in preparing the gardens for harvest. This includes seeding, watering and weeding of the farm at the direction of the Farm Operations Manager.
  • Supporting the operations of the greenhouse and hoop house in order to enhance production.
  • Participate in the operations of the Farm Stand as directed by the Farm Operations Manager.
  • Assist with programs including tours of the farm and lectures on farming with the guidance of the Farm Operations Manager and Chef.
