Community Health Associate II Position
at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood CA

Summary of Essential Job Duties:

Functioning under the direction of the Healthy Habits Program Administrator, implements Healthy Habits program in partner schools, including teaching curriculum for 6th and 7th grades, and facilitating the middle school afterschool program. Additional job responsibilities include teaching Healthy Habits at elementary schools, providing resources and technical assistance to partner schools, developing health education materials, and assisting with curriculum development and enhancement.

Healthy Habits provides education and technical assistance to support healthy eating and physical activity among school-aged children and their families. The overall goal of Healthy Habits is to reduce the risks and impacts of obesity in communities of need. Healthy Habits is a Community Benefit program of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required in nutrition/public health/community health related field. Master's degree preferred. Spanish fluency a plus. Must possess computer literacy - working knowledge of Windows or comparable system, presentation development, email, browsers, spreadsheets, etc.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
Current California driver's license and car.

Experience:
A minimum of two years’ experience working with community health settings required.
Experience working directly with middle and/or high school students required.
Ability to manage multiple assignments.
Ability to work independently, using sound judgment, and in a well-organized manner.
Attention to detail and ability to work well with colleagues, senior staff and community partners.

Physical Demands:
Ability to lift packages up to 25 pounds.
Ability to walk throughout Medical Center's campus and around community sites.
Frequent sitting, standing and walking.
Must have transportation to travel daily to community sites.
