Job Opening AMA Project Manager

Description
The American Medical Association (AMA), the nation’s largest professional Association of physicians, is seeking a Project Manager who will lead and develop the American Medical Association-convened Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement® (PCPI®) role in the National Quality Registry Network (NQRN). You will develop, operationalize, and maintain relevance of the NQRN through planning and outreach activities to multiple stakeholders interested in expanding the value of registries. The PM will represent the NQRN at meetings of national organization and will provide staff support to the NQRN program including its governance committees. You will also develop and promote the program offerings of the NQRN and will identify and obtain funding to support the activities of the NQRN.

Requirements
  • Minimum of a masters degree in a clinical area, public health, health services research, health information technology or related area required. Doctoral degree desirable.
  • Minimum of seven years of relevant experience in a health care related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, committee management and leading large, complex projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of complex data and/or measurement to support performance improvement and/or research.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the operational and legal functions of health information data and/or large patient databases required.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in methodologies for data collection, analysis and reporting preferred.
  • Ability to work well with professionals from different disciplines and to work effectively with physicians and physician associations required. Knowledge and/or experience in a professional association setting with a strong commitment to meeting membership needs preferred.
  • Demonstrates a creative, analytical approach to issues; the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to lead and facilitate meeting. Public speaking experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite of products, including Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
