Policy Analyst I – 1 year Contract

The American Medical Association (AMA), the nation’s largest professional Association of physicians, has a dynamic opportunity for the right individual who will provide project management and research support for an externally-funded project of the AMA involving the design and development of a new episode grouper system and related activities.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred in health services research, health services administration, economics, public health or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in translating work content into project plans; ability to manage work plans effectively and prioritize work effectively.
  • Project management experience preferred; specialized work performed in performance measurement, episodes or costs of care, health services or health policy research, or quality improvement.
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on grant and/or contract execution, including establishing and advancing agenda goals and effectively facilitating meetings.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and function effectively as a member of a team; strong interpersonal consensus-building and negotiation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated presentation and polished interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively management time, prioritize work, multi-task across may assignments concurrently; detail and task oriented, and the ability to function effectively under tight deadlines and high volume workloads.
  • Some travel required.
